Deathloop, the new from the creators of Dishonored, temporary exclusive on PS5 and PC

Arkane Studios is preparing a first person shooter in which its protagonist is locked in a loop of death and destruction.

The PlayStation 5 event, which can be followed in streaming through FreeGameTips (through a direct in text and video, as well as current news), has served to present part of the catalog of the new generation console from Sony. Deathloop, the new production of Arkane Lyon, will be released at Christmas as a temporary console exclusive on PS5 (the PC version will be released simultaneously).

This first-person shooter stars Colt, a man with a unique problem in the world. Every day he gets up on the same beach and with the same desire to kill. It’s an everlasting loop that he intends to break out of someday, but the only way to do it is to murder the eight people who keep the loop running. The condition is to do it before midnight, so you will have to be creative if you want to do it.

Each day is an opportunity to learn, adapt and solve the puzzles that hide the secret of Deathloop, but the methods depend on each player. As in other Arkane titles (see Dishonored), there will be different ways to reach the same destination.

Event delay, but with all announcements intact

The event was scheduled for June 4, but like many other video game companies, Sony decided to give the word “to more important voices.” In that climate of protest that was activated throughout the United States, many announcements were delayed. It all started with the murder of George Floyd by several police officers, something that sparked a reaction of general outrage against the systemic racism experienced by the African American population. This problem mainly affects the black community and is deeply rooted in society.

The cancellation of E3 2020 by the coronavirus, on the other hand, has not substantially altered the communication strategy that Sony had devised, in the sense that they did not plan to attend the Los Angeles fair. The idea was to bring the PlayStation 5 directly to the players, although it is possible that the face-to-face events have been affected by the security measures that the governments have been adopting until today.
