Deathloop and Ghostwire: Tokyo are temporary PS5 exclusives

The new games from Arkane Studios (Dishonored) and Shinji Mikami (the creator of Resident Evil) will be exclusive to PS5 in the new generation, but will also be released on PC.

Through a press release, Bethesda has confirmed that two of its most anticipated releases, Deathloop and Ghostwire: Tokyo, will be exclusive to PS5 in the new generation. Both titles will only reach the Sony console, although they will also come out on PC and, as the small print of the trailers suggests, their exclusivity on consoles could be temporary. Bethesda has also removed any traces of their possible versions for PS4 and Xbox One, platforms for which they were announced, so everything points to that they will be only next gen.

Everything seems to indicate that it will be a temporary exclusivity.

What do we know about both games?

Deathloop is the new thing from Arkane Studios (the developer behind Prey) and it is one of the titles that caught the most attention during the presentation of PS5. The game will put us in the shoes of Colt, a man who lives in an eternal loop from which he can only get out if he kills the eight people who keep the loop active before it restarts. A game full of action, strategy and possibilities when it comes to reaching our goal. It stands out both for its aesthetics and for its resemblance to the Dishonored saga.

For its part, Ghostwire: Tokyo is the latest madness of Shinji Mikami, the creator of Resident Evil and The Evil Within. A horror game in first person that has left us its first gameplay in the PS5 event. Mikami has declared that it is the title to which he has dedicated the most time and Bethesda assures that he will make use of the console’s features to create a huge world full of mysteries to explore. In it we will walk the streets of Tokyo investigating the sudden appearance of all kinds of spirits and supernatural threats. We will also have to face them with a huge and powerful cast of skills, spells and technological resources.

First PS5 exclusives

Both releases add to the first list of 14 PS5 exclusives, which also include the sequels to Spider-Man, Horizon, and Ratchet & Clank. At the same time, they are part of the barrage of games announced during the console’s unveiling, in which we saw more than 20 new titles, such as Resident Evil 8 or Hitman 3.
