Microsoft registers the domain “Xbox Series”; standalone xbox series x

Xbox 20/20: Microsoft will offer Xbox Series X news every month

The North American company considers the concept independent and leaves the doors open to more models within this generation or range.

Microsoft has applied the registration of the name “Xbox Series” independently from that of “Xbox Series X” in JUSTIA, North American website where legal and copyright information is hosted.

As announced by the Xbox Generation, on June 12 the authorization of this registration was approved, a property related to the next generation of Redmond consoles, but which raises doubts about the reason for the movement since that same date has been also registered the Xbox Series X.

Two registrations on the same date: ‘Xbox Series X’ and ‘Xbox Series’

Apart from being official records by Microsoft, both properties have a common denominator, that of the brand identifier (4,000), so they are related products; They also share a description and commercial purpose. The Xbox Series X was also registered on June 12. This move by Microsoft doesn’t have to mean that more Xbox Series models are on the way, but it does leave the doors open for it to eventually happen.

We know that in late 2020 Xbox Series X, the company’s powerful new console, will go on sale, but we don’t know if there will be more models with a different nomenclature. During the current generation, although in alternate times, Xbox One has had a standard model (2013), Xbox One S (2016) and Xbox One X (2017). Who will bet on two models is PS5, with a Standard edition and another Digital Edition.
