The Pokémon Company confirms the return of the saga 20 years after the original release on Nintendo 64. There will be creatures from all generations.

The Pokémon Company has announced New Pokémon Snap for Nintendo Switch during the Pokémon Presents this June 17. The Japanese company thus brings back one of the most beloved spin off licenses in the entire saga; the original title of Nintendo 64 where we put ourselves in the shoes of Todd Snap, a photographer with the mission of photographing Pokémon on a wild island.

Tsunekazu Ishihara, CEO and President of The Pokémon Company, has announced that the work is currently in development and has no release date. Judging by what we have seen in the first trailer, it is not a remake but a new installment, with species from the eight existing generations of the Game Freak canonical saga (the original title had 63 species).

The total number of confirmed species has not transpired, but we have seen territories such as Playa, the first scene of the original Pokémon Snap, so it is expected that some of the routes are back; like Todd, the protagonist, who has also been seen in the trailer shown. The project is being developed by Nintendo, Creatures Inc. and Game Freak together with Bandai Namco Entertainment; The authors of the original game were HAL Laboratory.
