It brings with it seven games of the saga, including a version never published before.

Samurai Shodown NeoGeo Collection will arrive in Spain. This has been announced by Avance Discos and Tesura Games, after reaching a distribution agreement with Just For Games to physically bring this collection to PS4 and Nintendo Switch, now available on the Epic Store. The date is scheduled for the end of summer, specifically for August 28 and will allow two players to play locally and have online games. Developed by Digital Eclipse and SNK, originally published in France by Pix’n Love Games, it will arrive in Spanish in addition to other languages.

The saga, which was born in 1993, has been growing until reaching the most notable last installment of last year. In this collection we will have seven games in the series: Samurai Shodown, Samurai Shodown II, Samurai Shodown III, Samurai Shodown IV, Samurai Shodown V, Samurai Shodown V Special and a never-before-released version, Samurai Shodown V Perfect. In addition, it has to its credit with more than 2,000 images and documents to be discovered in the museum, videos with exclusive interviews of the creators and games by the best professionals, and a music player with more than 200 audio tracks.

Perfect was a fully finished version of the fifth numbered installment, designed for NeoGeo but never released for sale. Now it comes fully playable, exclusively for this collection and with online modalities like the other titles. They would need to add the more than arguable 3D Samurai Shodown that arrived in the last generation of consoles and that in its attempt to copy SoulCalibur failed miserably, the version of NeoGeo Pocket that can be found with the purchase of Samurai Shodown on Nintendo Switch , and naturally this latest installment already available on different platforms: Stadia, PS4, Xbox One and Switch. So the collection is not complete but it does have all the classics and the best versions of them.

Samurai Shodown, a great game not so good on Switch

The latest installment of the saga has been one of the great fighting games of these times. Slow, strategic and very careful at an audiovisual level, it is an ideal title for those who want to keep their enemies at bay without having to learn great combos. Of course, the Switch version ended up lacking due to obvious performance problems, especially in portable mode where the type does not hold.
