Marvel's Iron-Man VR unleashes its powers in a new trailer

Tony Stark slips into his armor to fight Ghost and other threats who wish to see the world burn.

Not all heroes wear capes. Proof of this is the Iron Man himself, who crosses the skies with his shining armor. Soon, PlayStation 4 players will be able to put themselves in the shoes of the superhero thanks to Marvel’s Iron Man VR, a video game that will allow us to embody the character in the first person and fight in the air from a different perspective, that of virtual reality. Sony Interactive Entertainment has just released a new trailer in which we have the opportunity to experience the fight between Tony Stark’s alter ego and Ghost. You can see it on these lines.

This video game is exclusive to PlayStation 4, but you will not be able to enjoy it if you do not have PlayStation VR virtual reality glasses. Development is in charge of Camouflaj, the creators of République. In a recent article published on the official PlayStation blog, producer Aaron Whiting roughly reviewed the video game development process. “We decided that the team would create the world not only around Iron Man, but also around his famous civilian identity, Tony Stark.”

Two faces, one hero

As in Marvel’s Spider-Man, Camouflaj has opted to offer a character who is not always dressed in his superhero costume. Behind Iron Man is Tony Stark, a man who certainly does not hide behind a mask of shyness. His armor allows him to perform actions that would otherwise be humanly impossible to perform, as this member of The Avengers is not a mutant and has no powers. “Because of the first-person nature of virtual reality, we knew that players wanted to play Tony Stark,” says Whiting.

Marvel’s Iron Man VR has been another victim of the coronavirus. After the pandemic was declared, Sony decided to delay two of its biggest productions, The Last of Us Part 2 and Ghost of Tsushima. This virtual reality title also saw its release date moved to July 3.
