The Naughty Dog video game starts number one in sales in the UK in physical format and surpasses the Uncharted 4 record in this country.
The Last of Us Part 2 has signed a record first weekend in the UK. The new Naughty Dog has become the best-selling video game of the week in physical format, the best release of 2020 – beating Animal Crossing: New Horizons – and the fastest-selling title of the PS4 generation to date.
British Uncharted 4 record pulverized
With these data, the sequel to Ellie and Joel’s adventure surpasses the record of the Naughty Dog project, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End (2016, PS4), which until now had the best launch on the current Sony platform in the British Isles.
The Last of Us Part 2 has debuted with 76% higher sales than its predecessor on PlayStation 3; always talking about units officially sold in physical format, according to the data reported by the GfK consultancy. The difference between this launch and Animal Crossing: New Horizons in March, which was the best launch of 2020 until last Sunday, is 40%.
It should be noted that the second best-selling video game this past week (ended June 21) was Ring Fit Adventure for Nintendo Switch, one of the fastest growing video games this spring, which we can classify as the quarter marked by the global pandemic by coronavirus (COVID-19).

Possible records also in the United States
In the absence of official sales figures in Spain and the rest of the world, the first unofficial records reported by analysts place The Last of Us Part 2 above Marvel’s Spider-Man, currently the video game with the best debut in the history of PS4 in the United States with 3.3 million copies in its first weekend. The estimates, in the absence of the NDP Group ratifying them, place the title of Neil Druckmann with some 4 million copies dispatched.
The Last of Us Part 2 is available exclusively on PlayStation 4. You can read our review here, where we rated the play 9.3 out of 10, slightly below the original. Also, in this complete guide you can check everything to make the most of the game.
