Cyberpunk 2077 – upgrade or PS5 version not decided yet

Playfront

While it is already certain with the Xbox Series X that ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ will be playable with certain advantages, nothing has yet been decided with regard to the PS5. This is what developer CD Projekt once again said about the current quarterly report.

On the Xbox Series X, Cyberpunk 2077 benefits from the Smart Delivery System, which will also allow Xbox One games to be played across the board. It is not yet possible to say whether such a cross-gen upgrade will also follow for PS5, even if it is theoretically feasible. As Sony has already noted, almost all PS4 titles can also be played on PS5, but must first be tested to what extent they can benefit from the PS5 hardware.

“There is no official announcement from PlayStation, so we can’t really confirm or deny anything. It’s PlayStation that needs to solve this problem first, and then we’re happy to comment on it, but we can’t anticipate that. ”

Native next-gen version not decided

The question arises repeatedly for a native next-gen version for PS5 and Xbox Series X, which could certainly benefit from some advantages. No statement can be made at this time, since the focus is currently only on the current-gen version and the release in September. However, if there is a next-gen version, it will follow later either way.

“But when it comes to a correct, full version of the next generation that would appear later, we have not announced anything and cannot comment on it.”

If you look back at some statements from CD Projekt, where you repeatedly referred to the complexity of Cyberpunk 2077, you could make fairly certain bets that there will be a native next-gen version. Time will tell, too.
