When Disney bought Lucasfilm in 2012, LucasArts closed its doors and Electronic Arts took over the rights to develop video games based on Star Wars. The company seeks to redouble its efforts, which is why it has stated that it will continue to deepen its association with Lucasfilm.
“I say again that we have a fantastic relationship with Disney. We had a great relationship with LucasArts — we had a long collaboration with them since the time of Star Wars: The Old Republic, which we launched in 2011—, ”he said. “We were successful in first person shooters, RPGs, action adventure, MMORPG and mobile, so I am convinced that we will be successful with Squadrons as well.” The executive added that Disney is highly committed to intellectual property and royalty, so it will continue to create new content in the future.
