The Last of Us Part 2: enjoy the concert of Gustavo Santaolalla online

The composer, who gave a small concert to celebrate the game’s release, has uploaded it to his YouTube channel.

Accompanying Ellie on her journey of revenge would never have been the same without the musical notes of Gustavo Santaolalla, composer of the soundtrack for the first installment and The Last of Us Part 2. The musician, who will also lend his talent to the eponymous series. HBO took advantage of the title launch to organize a small-scale concert. The result of this can be fully enjoyed on the artist’s YouTube channel, as announced on his official Twitter account.

The Last of Us Part 2, with its post-apocalyptic world doomed to disaster, has blurred the lines between good and evil. It is a terrifying time in which to live, where barbarism is caused not only by the infected, already without conscience, but by the surviving human groups. Collectively grouped into different factions, the encounters between one and the other are not exactly friendly. In the background, the music of Santaolalla, full of stringed instruments, knows how to condense that mixture of the wild world and visceral horror.

A third installment?

Given the success in sales of this new chapter, it is worth asking if the closing of the trilogy is in the minds of its creators. According to Neil Druckmann, creative director, the doors are not closed tight. All in all, for the game to become a reality they would first have to find an idea, a starting point that allows them to continue developing stories in the United States cracked and reconquered by nature.

The Last of Us Part 2 was released on June 19 exclusively for PlayStation 4. It will not be the last major exclusive to the platform before the launch of PS5, since Ghost of Tsushima will make an appearance on July 17. Instead of the future, we will travel to the past of Japan, to the time of the samurai.
