InXile Entertainment has noted that the second project is still in pre-production, so it will take a long time to arrive.

Microsoft has strengthened its network of internal studios with multiple acquisitions. One of them is from InXile Entertainment, the creators of Wasleland 3 and The Bard’s Tale. They will also publish Frostpoint: Proving Grounds, a shooter for virtual reality due out this year. After completing these projects, it is time to look to the future, a future that will go hand in hand with Xbox Game Studios. It was already known that they were working on a next-gen RPG, but they just revealed that they have a second RPG in the works.

Brian Fargo, CEO of the company, has tweeted some interesting messages. In response to a fan has commented the following. “We are working on a wonderful new RPG. It’s a shame that they take so long to do ”. And he added: “He probably should have clarified that our second RPG is in a neonatal pre-production phase.” In other words, there is still a lot of development ahead.

Microsoft, an acquisition strategy

Obsidian Entertainment, InXile Entertainmnet, Double Fine Productions, Ninja Theory, PlayGround … many companies have become part of Xbox Game Studios, but the biggest hit was the surprise announcement of the purchase of ZeniMax Half. Through $ 7.5 billion, Microsoft has reached an agreement to bring all Bethesda studios under its umbrella. This includes developers like Bethesda Softworks, id Software, MachineGames, or Arkane Studios, but also intellectual property like Starfield, The Elder Scrolls, DOOM, or Dishonored.

All games published by Xbox Game Studios are published from day 1 on Xbox Game Pass, whose Ultimate subscription already has the game streaming. As if that were not enough, by the end of the year the EA Play service will be implemented, which will add more than 60 Electronic Arts titles.
