Game Freak will take into account the feedback of Pokémon Sword and Shield for the future

The Japanese studio always consults the reactions of the fans and, on this occasion, will help decide how to face the immediate future of the series.

Pokémon Sword and Shield will arrive in stores in just a few days exclusively for Nintendo Switch, developments that have taken Game Freak more than 3 years of work in offices composed of about 200 people, the highest amount to date for A main installment of the series. In a meeting on the official website, both Shigeru Ohmori and Junichi Masuda, director and producer respectively, have taken stock of what has come here.

But in the words of the director, and without explicitly citing the controversy with the cut of the National Pokédex, he acknowledges that they will take into account the feedback that users give for the future, who always listen to what the players have to say. In this case it will be from the launch this Friday, November 15 when they can begin to take note beyond some things that have already been expressed publicly as unconvincing: polygonal load in some textures and the absence of the National Pokédex.

“This is our first time introducing elements such as total camera movement in an open environment, so we are excited to see how players will respond once they have the game in hand. We will think about what we want to do in the future based on those reactions, ”says Ohmori.

November 15 in stores: the eighth generation begins

It should be said that the controversial decision not to include all the Pokémon of the National Pokédex in Sword and Shield will be repeated in future installments of the series, where there will be a selection of several hundred of them. To get the rest you will have to make use of the Pokémon HOME application, which will be launched on iOS, Android and Nintendo Switch sometime in 2020; although in the case of Sword and Shield only those species that are programmed in the cartridges can be transferred, which cannot be taken from previous deliveries to these.

Pokémon Sword and Shield will launch on November 15, 2019 on Nintendo Switch; In a few hours you can read our Reviews on FreeGameTips. You can check here all confirmed species and differences between versions.
