Google Stadia: minimum and recommended requirements to play optimally

We review everything necessary to make use of the new video game streaming platform from Google, available on November 19.

Google Stadia arrives on the market this November 19 with the intention of becoming the new platform for video game consumption under subscription without the need for hardware. Unlike today's leading hardware manufacturers, the Mountain View firm dispenses with the console and will allow you to play on a multitude of devices. What is essential is to have an Internet connection.

Since last June, when it became known that Stadia would be available in fourteen countries of launch (Spain included), one thing was made clear: if we want to play at maximum quality we must have a 35 Mbps Internet connection. This will allow Play 4K with 60 FPS when this option is allowed, as it won't launch.

Recommended requirements to play on Google Stadia

In November, a maximum of 1080p can be played on a computer. The minimum requirement is to have at least 10 Mbps to play with Stadia at 720p (HD). It should be said that many of the functions (such as playing in 4K or the Buddy Pass) will not be available until 2020.

  • 10 Mbps connection: 720p, 60 FPS, stereo sound
  • 20 Mbps connection: 1080p, 60 FPS, HDR, 5.1 surround sound
  • 35 Mbps connection: 4K, 60 FPS, HDR, 5.1 surround sound

Check your connection to see if you can use Google Stadia here.
