Halo: Combat Evolved will start its internal tests on PC after Christmas

343 Industries will publish Halo: Reach first, then give way to the rest of the deliveries in a staggered manner.

The doubts were cleared regarding the launch of Halo: Reach, first of the Halo: The Master Chief Collection titles that will be published on PC, and at the same time, on Xbox Game Pass. It will be on December 3 when the prequel to the game starring the Master Chief takes us back to the space and science fiction worlds originally created by Bungie. 343 Industries, the study that took over the saga, has confirmed that Halo: Combat Evolved will undergo in-house testing after Christmas.

The difficulty of adapting a classic

The information has been provided by Brian Jarrard, community director of 343 Industries. As he has commented, transferring the experience to PC has been more “challenging” than they had initially anticipated, so the set-up has taken longer. Do not forget that the first installment of Halo itself was released on PC, but it is not the Anniversary Edition that was developed for the console version of Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

"We have taken a game that is very old and we have tried to update it for this platform – adding 60 fps and 4K – but we also wanted to take into account the requirements that PC players expect today." The statements, collected in the PCgamesN medium, also refer to the unblocked framerate or the inclusion of the different screen ratios.

Once the new year begins, the team will continue with the planned plans and continue working on the rest of the collection. After Halo: Reach and Halo: Combat Evolved, the roadmap goes through publishing Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST and Halo 4. The fifth installment, Guardians, is now available in compatible, since it was never part of the original compilation.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection was released for Xbox One in 2014.
