Sony inaugurates Sony AI: artificial intelligence in video games and entertainment

The Japanese company intends to continue growing in the world of research and development with three projects already underway.

Sony Corporation has created Sony AI, a new worldwide organization with which they will work in the research and development of artificial intelligence in three projects already underway, a technology that they hope to apply in video games, image and sound, robotics and entertainment.

According to the statement, Sony AI will have offices in Japan, the United States and Europe. The objective of the Japanese giant is to dedicate and centralize efforts in its commercial purposes of the world of videogames and other areas such as music or cinema, which will transform and create new goals.

The long-term objective also goes through the extension beyond its business domains. The first three projects will go to the videogames, image and detection departments and, finally, gastronomy to “further improve the value of Sony's videogames and sensors businesses in the coming years”.
