Google Stadia: calculate how much data you consume per hour and per minute

Google's streaming service passes its first performance and consumption tests of MB now that it is available in some countries.

Google Stadia is now available in a total of fourteen countries, including Spain. The streaming service of the American giant is being analyzed by multiple means with results that are far from expected, at least for now, largely due to the absence of some of the promised exclusive functions. According to the first calculations, it is already known how much data the platform consumes in 1080p.

Google Stadia consumes 100 MB per minute at 1080p

At the moment Google Stadia cannot be used in native 4K resolution with the promised 60 FPS, as is the case with Red Dead Redemption 2, recently analyzed by Digital Foundry, but it can be played at 1080p 60 FPS. From VentureBeat they have calculated how much MB consumption was an hour of streaming, exactly 7 GB of data (more than 100 MB per minute), so it is best to play using a Wi-Fi network and not mobile data; unless an unlimited flat rate is available. The majority of contracting plans for operators in Spain do not include such high numbers of user data packages, where standard prices range between 4 and 20 GB of data.

22 games available on Google Stadia

At the moment, Google Stadia has a total of 22 video games available in its catalog, but each one must be purchased individually. The current subscription plan, Stadia Pro, is priced at 9.99 euros per month and includes Destiny 2 and Samurai Shodown at no additional cost; It also brings with it three months of subscription, a remote and a Chromecast Ultra unit, in addition to the Buddy Pass (three month gift to a friend). You can check here the price of the rest of titles.

In the section of image and sound quality or required connections, we must have a 35 Mbps connection to be able to execute the titles in 4K resolution at 60 images per second and 5.1 surround sound (when possible). In this link you can do a connection test to know if Stadia is ready or not at home.
