The Google Stadia app accumulated 175,000 downloads in its debut

The first reports show that the United States is the country with the greatest implementation and Android is the preferred operating system.

The first statistics of Google Stadia begin to arrive. The streaming platform of the Mountain View company is now available in 14 countries, Spain included, with sensations found among those who already have an account on the platform, which requires a monthly subscription (Stadia Pro). According to Sensor Tower, 175,000 downloads were recorded on debut day.

This application, necessary to start the service, accumulated 90% of the total downloads through Google Play, the digital store of Android devices; meanwhile, the remaining 10% corresponds to the Apple App Store. Likewise, 41% of all downloads were made in the United States, the country where this platform has been best implemented and where the best infrastructure exists to take advantage of it.

Google has not given concrete figures on the number of active users of Google Stadia after these first available days, but this data can serve as a photograph of how things are going for this ambitious idea, whose materialization is still halfway between what is and what it wants to be, according to the initial verdict of international media.

Google Stadia: how much you consume per minute and what resolution it offers today

As we said, Google Stadia is leaving very different sensations. Although the promise is that with a 35 Mbps connection a native resolution can be achieved in 4K with 60 FPS, the reality is that it is not so; it won't be until 2020. In Red Dead Redemption 2 you can currently play in a native resolution of 1440p rescaled to 4K on the Chromecast Ultra device. In said resolution, the title remains at 30 FPS, half.

The first calculations reflect that Google Stadia consumes 100 MB per minute in 1080p resolution; in one hour the data consumption amounted to 7 GB, so it seems complicated to recommend the service on mobile connections. Much better with a Wi-Fi connection.

Google Stadia currently has a total of 22 video games available, but little by little more will be arriving. Of course: they must be purchased individually, separately. Stadia Pro, the monthly subscription, is priced at 9.99 euros and includes Destiny 2 and Samurai Shodown at no additional cost; It also brings with it three months of subscription, a remote and a Chromecast Ultra unit, in addition to the Buddy Pass (three month gift to a friend).
