Half-Life: Alyx will be free for Valve Index users

Valve will offer its new game at no additional cost to all users who have acquired Valve Index, their VR device.

Half-Life: Alyx has been the great sensation of the VR universe in this month. Valve surprised us with the return of the franchise twelve years after Half-Life 2: Episode 2. While the famous third chapter is still in the air, Alyx, in the mouth of the team, is a fantastic opportunity to see the reaction of the community: “we would love to continue forward,” they comment.

After all the layer of information that we have been knowing, one of them has remained in the inkwell. Almost at the end of the official description on Steam it is detailed that Half-Life: Alyx will be free for all those players who have acquired Valve Index, the virtual reality device designed by the Bellevue company.

On the other hand, those who have found the ad enough to make way for this new industry will have the opportunity to obtain a copy without additional cost of the game. If we buy Valve Index or any of its peripherals before the end of the year we can opt for this offer. The prices (and packages) would look like this:

  • Viewfinder, controls, station and Half-Life: Alyx | € 1,079

  • Viewfinder, controls and Half-Life: Alyx | € 799

  • Viewer and Half-Life: Alyx | € 539

  • Controls and Half-Life: Alyx | € 299

The only option that does not include the game is the game station package, whose price reaches € 159. The content of these packages varies depending on whether you already have the peripherals that Vive includes and its Pro version.

As usual in the company's products, different bonuses are offered next to the purchase for other company titles. In this case we will get the opportunity to “explore the environments of Half-Life: Alyx in the SteamVR Home space”. We can also alternate the appearance of the weapon within the game, as well as different themed cosmetics for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, although it has not yet transcended how it will be.
