A group of modders manages to design the first water-cooled PS5, allowing it to dissipate heat without the need for large fans.
The YouTube channel Modding Café has published a video showing the latest creation by computer setup expert Nhenhophach: a water-cooled PS5. Unlike the model currently in production by Sony, which uses liquid metal fans and cooling, this time we have a more efficient and quieter heat dissipation method than traditionally used by physical fans.

“This is the first version of a water-cooled PS5; there will be many more versions “, says Nhenhophach in this video, which you can see in this news. The form factor of the console changes, as parts have been added to the chassis that completely change the exterior body of the set, not the interior, as it continues to be a functional PlayStation 5. “We continue to prepare a commercial version and we are ready to integrate water cooling into one of our computers, don’t miss it”, they anticipate, as this cooling method will also be transferred to the PCs that are dedicated to mounting and modifying.
The comparative images leave us with several cherries. The first of these is that this PS5 Water-Cooled is significantly smaller than the model currently in production by Sony. Different approaches to configure the chassis, also the design, which looks like a currently fashionable gaming CPU on the market, and even a plastic space as a support to place a DualSense – the official PlayStation 5 controller.
This water-cooled PS5 model is not for sale, however, other unofficial companies are manufacturing cases in alternative colors to Sony’s official white; also a DualSense controller in black or a spectacular PS5 personalized with motifs from The Last of Us.
PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition are available worldwide, but stock limitations are a constant; A smooth flow of units is not expected until the second half of 2021.
