Filmmaker Deborah Chow talks about the context of the new Star Wars series for Disney + after directing the third episode of The Mandalorian.

Thus, and through a recent interview with The New York Times, Chow says that the experience with The Mandalorian with Jon Favreau has been very useful for the approach and approach of the new Obi-Wan series, very different to the making of a movie.
“There are many other stories within that period because they are many years. There is so much between The Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope that has not been explored … The idea of being able to embark on a journey of characters to whom you add politics and all the vastness of the empire with everything that is happening, is exciting. It seems an appropriate period in the history of the saga and, sometimes, that is very difficult to tell in just two hours, ”says the director.
“With two-hour movies there is always an imperative for the action and the plot to move particularly fast and move from one sequence of action to another. Here are many more aspects of the story that I find interesting. The situation is very complex for both Obi-Wan and, in a way, for the state of the galaxy, you need time to explore it, ”concludes Chow.
The screenwriter Hossein Amini (Drive) is in charge of the script of a series that will start filming next summer, for a premiere at Disney + scheduled for some time in 2021, at the moment, without a specific date.
