Stardew Valley introduces a new mystery in its new update

Update 1.4 is free and available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One; Mobile and Nintendo Switch users will have to wait a bit.

Tired of the city? Fed up with pollution, shouting and honking cars? Stardew Valley is the game that brings us back to the quiet country life. Or so they say, because growing and managing farms is not easy. From now on, we will have even more options thanks to update 1.4, now available on PC, Mac and Linux. The patch will be released shortly on Nintendo Switch and iOS and Android devices, as announced by Eric Barone, head of the title, in a new thread of the official blog. We will also enjoy a new mystery for the endgame!

"This update not only adds content and features to the game," Barone explains, "but also improves the gaming experience significantly, with lots of 'quality of life' features." This includes some things "that the community has requested for a long time", as well as "a lot of bug fixes" and improvements in optimization. "Simply put, the game is more polished than ever."

Main news

As we said, the patch includes a mystery related to a certain abandoned house and an event focused on your character and that of your partner. "I wanted to show a little more about what each spouse does after marriage," he says. From now on, a new type of farm will be added where we can raise fish and get a good number of new objects. Many fish will produce eggs, which can be preserved in canned jars. "Some fish produce other things" and secondary objects "that may be useful."

Four Corners has also been added, a new map designed for multiplayer, although it can also be used in single player mode or cooperative. Other novelties include 60 new objects, 24 new hairstyle styles, 181 t-shirts, 35 hats, 14 pants, two new boots, 14 unpublished musical themes, etc.

The Stardew Valley update is free on all platforms.
