PlayStation celebrates 25th birthday, a few words from Sony

PlayStation is celebrating its 25th anniversary these days, a quarter-century success story, which Sony uses as an opportunity to look back.

The original PlayStation came on December 3, 1994 on the market. Back then, Ken Kutaragi and his team, as humble upstarts at Sony, began building video games into a kind of entertainment that everyone can enjoy, and creating a platform for game developers to let them experience their creativity.

Jim Ryan, YOU-President commented:

“For the past 25 years, PlayStation has been at the forefront of the gaming industry, and I’m honored to be part of that team right from the start. I remember when I helped build the European office, that we had to start from scratch with everything from hiring people to ordering furniture.

At that time, we focused on entering local markets to make sure that a player in Poland, as well as someone in the UK or Japan or the US, would feel part of the PlayStation community. Backed by passionate fans around the world, our business has grown a lot and our focus on the community is more important than ever. “

On the occasion of the anniversary, an Advent calendar has been launched on PlayStation, which you can find at this link.
