NieR launches a website for its tenth anniversary

Square Enix, which owns the intellectual property rights, has not yet announced whether it will carry out activities to commemorate the birthday.

It has been almost a decade since NieR Replicant was released. He did it in the generation of PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with a video game that ended up acquiring the cult game status. Later, PlatinumGames picked up the witness and published NieR: Automata. It is still unclear what the future of the saga will be, but Square Enix has just opened the website with which they intend to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the franchise.

As of today, the website still has no content, beyond any news about the concerts of the soundtrack of NieR. The anniversary logo is displayed, but the plans regarding it are not announced, so you will have to wait for new information. Do not forget that NieR Replicant was launched in April 2010, so there are still a few months until the birthday becomes effective.

Nier: Automata could be canceled

When Square Enix decided to resurrect the franchise, he commissioned the task to PlatinumGames, a studio with extensive experience in action video games. The funny thing is that Yoko Taro, its director, admitted that the title was about to be canceled due to its inability to get up early. And in those moments, the study had as a rule that all employees had to start working very early.

According to the creative in the GDC, the workday began at 9:30 in the morning. "As a freelance, I am unable to get up so soon," he said then. "We were a month in which we continually discussed it and NieR: Automata was about to cancel because the start of the day was too early for me."

Fortunately for NieR: Automata and for the saga in general, PlatinumGames currently works with a more flexible schedule. Will they work on a new delivery? Time will tell.
