Animal Crosssing: New Horizons will arrive in Latin Spanish

It will be the first time that a title of the saga comes to the native language of Latin America. The game will include elements of Mexican folklore.

Animal Crosssing: New Horizons will also be localized to Latin Spanish when it goes on sale next March on Nintendo Switch. The title, the new main iteration of the saga since 2013, will be the first in the saga to have this adaptation to Latin America's own language, with all that that entails, and will feature elements of Mexican culture.

The information has been confirmed in an official event held by Nintendo in Mexico this week, as advanced by the user Ramón (@MapacheRants) on the Twitter social network, where he also attaches images of the result of that location to Latin Spanish.

Latin America, a population of more than 600 million inhabitants

In this way, the title will have idiomatic and native expressions that are part of the daily life of the specific vocabulary of Latin America, which are far from those of the Spanish we speak in Spain. In fact, of the more than 400 million people who speak Spanish worldwide, more than 300 million people do so in Latin America. Aesthetic elements such as a dress from China Poblana and the Monarch Butterfly (more information via National Geographic) will be present in the game as a reference to the culture of Mexico.
