Star Wars Battlefront 2 will add BB-8 and BB-9E as playable characters

It was already confirmed that EA DICE's production would introduce content from Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.

The Republic falls, the Empire rises, then succumbs, the Republic is reborn again, then wobble before the forces of the First Order. Star Wars Battlefront 2 reviews all the epochs narrated in the movies, which means the appearance of multiple characters. Although some like Baby Yoda and the Mandalorian are profiled through mods, the study has confirmed that the BB-8 and BB-9E androids will add to the videogame's character template.

Both are characters from Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, the movie that closes the third trilogy and the story of one of the most relevant Jedi (and Sith) families in the galaxy. While BB-8 is the friendly Android of the Resistance, so he will join the ranks of heroes, BB-9E embodies the evil version. Therefore, he will fight alongside the villains. This content is scheduled for late January 2020.

Before that date, however, players will have the opportunity to embody a new Jet Tropper of the First Order. The Resistance will receive two new classes, spy and gunner, which will be reserved for two new alien species (not yet revealed).

A new edition with all the contents

Although it leaked prematurely on the network, Electronic Arts has officially announced Star Wars Battlefront 2: Celebration Edition, which includes all the content released so far and the update of The Rise of Skywalker. It will go on sale on December 17 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

The game, developed by EA DICE, creators of the Battlefield saga, was released at the end of 2017. After a bitter controversy about loot boxes, Electronic Arts decided to modify its policy in all video games. Be that as it may, the initial stumbling block has not meant the end of support for Star Wars: Battlefront 2, rather the opposite. The study plans to add more content during the next year 2020.
