On the occasion of the arrival of version 2.0 of the exclusive title of Nintendo Switch, we took advantage of solving some doubts about the contents.

Nintendo announced surprisingly just a few days ago that Super Mario Maker 2 was going to be updated for free to version 2.0, an expansion without additional cost with new objects, a new game mode and elements for the construction of scenarios. This update is available as of December 5 but, as not all content can be used in all Super Mario styles, serve this article as a reference guide.

What new objects can we use in each Super Mario style

First of all, we remember that Super Mario Maker 2 has the possibility of creating levels of five deliveries: Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, New Super Mario Bros. U and Super Mario 3D World. However, some of the new items are exclusive to some styles. Without further delay let's see it quickly and briefly:

  • Super Mario Bros .: compatible with the Master Sword of The Legend of Zelda, Spike, Pokey, P Block, Frozen Coins

  • Super Mario Bros. 3: Spike, Pokey, Block P, Frozen Coins

  • Super Mario World: Spike, Pokey, P Block, Frozen Coins

  • New Super Mario Bros. U: Spike, Pokey, Block P, Frozen Coins

  • Super Mario 3D World: Spike, Pokey, P Block, Turbo Blocks

What's new in version 2.0 of Super Mario Maker 2?

On the one hand, all these new items: Spike, Pokey, Block P, Frozen Coins, Turbo Blocks and the Master Sword, with which we will become Link. It is not a skin, but has direct effects on the gameplay: sword, shield, bow in different directions, possibility of throwing bombs …

In turn, the Ninji Time Trial, where we can compete for the best time in levels created by Nintendo exclusively for this mode (requires subscription to Nintendo Switch Online). In addition, we can see the ghosts of other players in the purest time trial style of Mario Kart
