Dead Cells will have a paid DLC in early 2020

It will be called The Bad Seed, will be priced at $ 4.99 and will be developed by Evil Empire, which has confirmed some of the content it will include.

One of the great indies of 2018, Dead Cells (which only gave in The Game Awards 2018 before Celeste), will have an expansion of payment in early 2020. This has been confirmed by Motion Twin, its developer, which has also given price ( $ 4.99) and name (The Bad Seed) to DLC. It will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, and according to its creators, all players can enjoy it at the level it has.

The Bad Seed will include two new biomes called Arboretum ("a lush paradise for deceptively adorable creatures") and Swamp ("inhabited by gunmen, spear bearers and huge purple ticks"). To them will be added an "extremely creepy" final boss and several unpublished features that are yet to be revealed. The DLC will be the first work of Evil Empire, a study born as an appendix to Motion Twin, who founded it with several of its former employees to provide more content to Dead Cells while they focus on new projects.

The success of Dead Cells

The game, which rose with a 9.2 in the FreeGameTips Reviews, has had a brilliant 2019 in which it has exceeded one million copies sold; come to iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, where it is available from August 28 at a price of 8.99 euros; and launched its first major expansion: Rise of the Giant. A free DLC that incorporated a new biome and final boss, several unpublished enemies, 50 outfits, 10 weapons and a custom game mode.

Precisely that success is what has led Motion Twin to create Evil Empire. The developer is aware that Dead Cells was her "last chance" and wants to provide new content for the game continuously as thanks to users. The young French studio, who spent three years developing Dead Cells, says he is now "open to anything" and is already testing and experimenting for his next job.
