FF VII Remake will only be temporary exclusive of PS4

The game may be released on other systems (such as Xbox One or PC) from March 3, 2021, the date on which its exclusivity period ends.

It was an open secret, but it's official. Final Fantasy VII Remake will only be exclusive to PlayStation 4 until March 3, 2021. It has been confirmed by Square Enix itself by publishing a cover of the game that reads "Play first on PS4" and the exact date until which extends this temporary exclusivity, lasting one year. From then on, the game could see the light on other platforms, such as Xbox One and PC.

Before that I could go out on PlayStation 5

It is not surprising that this information has come to light before even the remake goes on sale. Even more if we take into account that just six months ago, Square Enix assured by active and passive that the game "will only be released on PS4". Rumors and "accidental errors" have not stopped happening since its announcement (the official Xbox account in Germany, for example, came to confirm the version of Xbox One in its day), but everything pointed to that we were not going to have the true until the launch of the title, clearly one of the most anticipated of 2020.

Where the game could also see the light before March 3, 2021 is on PlayStation 5. Yosuke Matsuda, president of Square Enix, confirmed at E3 2019 that the developer is working "so that the game can run so much in the next generation of consoles as in the current one ". Who knows, maybe by 2021 the remake will skip Xbox One and go directly to Project Scarlett. The only sure thing today is that Final Fantasy VII Remake will be released on March 3 on PlayStation 4, which will be on two discs and will contain only the first episode of the Cloud epic, which is already underway the second part.
