Koei Tecmo today introduces more characters in its new JRPG 'Fairy Tail', which will be released in 2020 for PS4 and Switch.
In Fairy Tail, players from a list of over 15 playable characters can build a five-character team as they travel through the Kingdom of Fiore to make Fairy Tale the best guild in the region. New characters announced today include fan favorite, user of "Heavenly Body Magic", Jellal Fernandes of Crime Sorcière; the "Drawing Card" by Fairy Tail, Mirajane Strauss and the "Thunder Dragon Slayer" and grandson by Makarov, Laxus Dreyar.
When characters fight in the same group, their connections gradually become stronger and with increasing friendship, special conversations are held, including their own dialogues written for the Fairy Tail game. Stronger connections also allow for increased attacks. For example: The powerful magic chain ability can last a long time after teammates have made a significant connection. Playing through the game's original character relationship stories also increases the character rank of the group member, unlocking a wealth of new combat skills.
Fairy Tail will be released on March 19, 2020.
