Mortal Kombat 11 will have crossplay between PS4 and Xbox One

NetherRealm Studios gives the first details of the cross game, which can be deactivated, does not allow private games and does not work in the qualifiers.

Taking advantage of The Game Awards 2019, gala in which Mortal Kombat 11 was nominated for the award for Best Fighting Game of the Year (figurine that has finally gone to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate), NetherRealm Studios has confirmed that very soon there will be crossed play between PS4 and Xbox One. The crossplay (which will be called here with the letter 'k', Krossplay) will come out with the next update and once available it will be announced through the official accounts of the saga.

The only thing that is known at the moment is that it can be activated / deactivated according to the preferences of each one, it will not be available in the Kombat League qualifying games and, at least on departure, it will not have private games or any matchmaking system that allows us Play with the friend we choose. If we want to face a specific person we will have to coordinate with them to enter at the same time the Special Krossplay Rooms mode, which will arrive with the update. NetherRealm has also ensured that for now there are no plans to bring the game crossed to PC, Nintendo Switch and Google Stadia, thus limiting itself to the Mortal Kombat 11 versions for Sony and Microsoft consoles.

The Joker will arrive in January

During The Game Awards 2019, a first look has also been shown on what the Joker will look like in Mortal Kombat 11. The Batman villain will be the fifth character in the game's Mortal Pack and will arrive on January 28, 2020. This season pass has A price of 39.99 euros and gives us access to all the fighters that have been added over the last months (Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, Teminator and Sindel), to those who will come (Joker and Spawn), and 7 skins and 7 exclusive equipment sets. They can also be purchased separately and individually at a price of 5.99 euros each.

It should be remembered that Joker is not the only Batman character available in Mortal Kombat 11, because as the trailer reminds us, Harley Quinn is also part of it as a skin for Cassie Cage, with whom she shares movements. A battle between the two seems to be the best way to wait until the character's next movie, Birds of Prey.
