They launch a signature collection for the remake of The Legend of the Dragoon

There are already more than 15,000 people who have asked Sony, on the 20th anniversary of the game, to make a remake in the future, perhaps with Bluepoint Games?

This December, The Legend of the Dragoon has turned 20 years old. The title of Sony, one of the great role-playing games of the first PlayStation, came out in Japan on a cold December 2, 1999, and was made to beg for something more in Europe and North America, where it was launched in January 2001 and June 2000 respectively. On the occasion of its anniversary, of which the Japanese company does not seem to have even agreed, several fans have begun to move a petition for their remake on social networks, accompanied by the hashtag #RemakeLoD. A petition that you can sign here and that already has more than 15,000 signatures of the 25,000 that it aims at.

Far from staying in a mere request, this is accompanied by a trailer of that hypothetical remake made by fans (the one on these lines) … and even has a letter to Sony in which, with the soundtrack of The Legend of the Dragoon in the background, explains the changes you want in the game! That if improvements in the script, that if changes in the rewards and the loot of the fighting, even things as concrete as certain movements spend MP because in the original they did not. Of course, the letter makes clear the passion of its author and the community of the title, still alive today.

The new remake of Bluepoint Games?

It is not the first time that the remake of The Legend of Dragoon has been discussed. In fact, it is one of the names that always comes to the fore when people wonder what Bluepoint Games is working on. The studio, which has a long tradition in remakes and remastering for Sony, has a secret project underway and nothing is ruled out. After the remake of Shadow of the Colossus, her most important work to date, the developer is immersed in a PlayStation 5 title that is defined as a “reimagining” of a classic saga. The team has made winks right and left to confuse the staff and even Peter Dalton, its technical director, recently had a few words for The Legend of the Dragoon in which he claimed to love the game and consider it as one of his future projects. In any case, there is nothing beyond desires and good will, and for now we can only sign, patience and continue dreaming of the return of such a mythical RPG.
