Formula 2 and Formula 3 have launched fresh logo designs ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix, marking the newest visual update in the FIA‑aligned feeder pyramid.
New visual language and colour direction
F2’s emblem now features a single‑tone blue, discarding the previous dual‑shade arrangement for a cleaner, contemporary silhouette. The change retains the series’ historic hue while simplifying its appearance for digital and broadcast applications.
Conversely, F3 adopts a vivid orange badge, moving away from the earlier grey‑and‑red scheme. The bright shade is intended to convey dynamism and to differentiate the category within the racing ladder.
Both logos have been streamlined to function effectively across a range of platforms, from on‑track signage to social media graphics.
Collaboration, rollout and strategic intent
The redesigns emerged from a joint effort involving Formula 1, the FIA and the two junior series, a partnership aimed at aligning the visual identity of the entire ladder with the iconic F1 brand.
CEO Bruno Michel highlighted the goal of “better visually conveying the journey towards Formula 1,” noting that the blue of F2 remains instantly recognisable, while the new orange in F3 is meant to resonate with fans.
Implementation will be simultaneous across digital channels, broadcast overlays, track‑side assets and promotional material, ensuring a cohesive presence wherever the series appear.
Brand evolution within the feeder hierarchy
The latest logos follow a series of rebrandings that reshaped the junior categories in recent years. In early 2017, the GP2 championship was rebranded as Formula 2, and two years later the merger of GP3 with European Formula 3 gave rise to today’s Formula 3.
These transformations dovetailed with Formula 1’s own overhaul after Liberty Media’s acquisition in 2017, a period that sparked a comprehensive visual refresh across the sport’s top tier.
As the updated marks debut in Monaco, they symbolize the continued effort to present a unified and modern image for the path that leads emerging talent toward the pinnacle of motorsport.
