Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis has been pushed back to 12 February 2027, a shift confirmed by a fresh trailer unveiled during today’s State of Play showcase.
Expanded environments and rebuilt puzzles
The new footage transports players to the iconic Lost Valley of Peru and to crumbling Greek ruins, presenting visual upgrades that surpass both the original 1996 title and its first remake. Developers at Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog emphasized that puzzles have been reconstructed from the ground up, while a semi‑connected world now permits seamless travel between locations, a capability absent from earlier versions.
Scheduling shift and accompanying title
Originally slated for a 2026 launch, the postponement may be a strategic move to sidestep a direct market clash with the forthcoming GTA 6 release later this year. The revised calendar aligns Legacy of Atlantis with Tomb Raider: Catalyst, positioning both games for a joint 2027 rollout and offering fans a double release window.
Pre‑order tiers and exclusive content
Pre‑orders are active immediately. The standard edition retails at $59.99, while the deluxe version costs $69.99 and grants a 48‑hour early access window. Deluxe purchasers also receive the Parisian Fugitive outfit and a post‑launch DLC story pack, adding cosmetic and narrative value to the purchase.
Whether the delay will affect consumer enthusiasm remains to be seen, but the enhanced world design and additional content suggest a substantial upgrade over previous iterations.
