Fortnite Reload is slated for its most extensive revamp to date as part of Chapter 7 Season 3, with the update landing on June 6 2026.
Morphite weapons expand the armory while legacy firearms disappear
Design Lead K.L. Smith confirmed that the loot pool will now feature three new Morphite variants: a hammer‑style Assault Rifle, a Sentinel Shotgun and a Mammoth Pistol. To accommodate these additions, Epic plans to retire a large selection of older guns, re‑introducing several fan‑favoured pieces in the process.

Progressive Reboot Loadouts replace the static starter kit
Players will no longer receive a single gray Assault Rifle at spawn. Instead, the initial equipment evolves with the match phases. Early storm circles grant a common Assault Rifle; mid‑game drop‑ins supply a Morphite Heavy AR, a Morphite SMG, and a Mini Shield Potion; and the final storm circle equips a Morphite AR, Tactical Shotgun, another Mini Shield Potion, plus two Chug Splash consumables.
Zero Build adjustments and a smarter Battle Bus descent
The Zero Build mechanics first introduced in version 40.40 are now being ported to Reload Zero Build. Lethal fall damage is removed, leaving players at 1 HP with shields stripped when they hit the ground. Additionally, the Battle Bus gains an ADS (Aim‑Down‑Sight) function, allowing precise map zoom‑ins for accurate pings, and a parachute‑cut feature that lets drop‑ins accelerate toward the landing zone.
These sweeping changes promise to reshape the Reload experience, positioning Chapter 7 Season 3 as a pivotal moment for Fortnite’s broader ecosystem.
