The NASCAR Cup race at Chicagoland Speedway will feature a 38‑car field after the No. 66 Garage 66 Ford pulls out because of a sponsorship void.
Open Teams Deck the Field
Originally, 39 cars were slated to compete, including the open entries teams: Corey Heim’s No. 67 23XI Racing Toyota, J.J. Yeley’s No. 44 NY Racing Team Chevrolet, and Josh Bilicki’s No. 66 Garage 66 Ford.
Withdrawal and Team Outlook
Garage 66 announced the withdrawal on Thursday, citing a lack of sponsorship as the reason for missing the July 4th weekend. The team conveyed regret but expressed eagerness to return soon.
Seeking Sponsorship Amid Reduced Field
On June 30, the team posted on social media soliciting a primary sponsor for the race. The No. 66 has appeared in eight races this year with various drivers and Bilicki hoped for a second appearance in 2026.
