Mojang’s latest Minecraft 26.3 Snapshot 4 replaces the legacy GLFW API with SDL3, sharpening window and input handling across modern platforms while still keeping the game’s visual style unchanged.
SDL3 adoption streamlines display and peripheral interactions
Borderless fullscreen now launches by default, yet players can toggle to exclusive fullscreen without restarting the game. Linux systems prioritize Wayland when available, and the keyboard shortcut system shifts from layout‑based to key‑position‑based evaluation.
Core gameplay and interface receive subtle yet practical updates
The spectator mode now follows Nether portals, enabling observers to move through dimensions without altering their game mode. Debugging tools improve as well: the overlay displays real‑time movement speed in blocks per tick alongside the monitor’s refresh rate, and the debug menu allows independent GUI‑scale adjustment.
Creative inventory sees a cleaner, logical organization
Minerals now appear at the forefront, followed in order by raw materials, refined resources, nuggets, and ingots. Block sorting follows biome origin—Overworld items come first, then Nether, and lastly End blocks.
