There is life beyond The Last of Us 2 and Ghost Ghost of Tsushima. We review the exclusive games that will fire PS4 in 2020, before PS5 arrives.
There is no turning back. The new generation is just around the corner and both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will arrive by Christmas of 2020. However, the wait should not be as hard as it seems. Microsoft users can remove sheets from the calendar thanks to Xbox Game Pass and, for their part, Sony's have twelve months ahead of them in which a considerable amount of exclusives accumulates, many of them of the highest quality. A final strike that will put the finishing touch to seven years that have earned him the crown as the third best-selling console in history, only behind Wii and PS2. Placed some among the most anticipated games of 2020, in FreeGameTips we have decided to review with what launches PS4 will be fired.
The Last of Us 2
It is seeing the Naughty Dog logo and shrinking the heart, although we no longer know if it is because of the final kinematics of The Last of Us or how close its sequel is. Planned for May 29, 2020, it has been defined as the longest and most emotional work of the company, which wants to take PS4 “to the limit of its power” and aims to overcome God of War and Marvel's Spider-Man. It is not going to be an easy task for Ellie and Joel, but if we have learned something by now it is not to doubt the creators of Uncharted.
Ghost of Tsushima
Someone already saw him as a PlayStation 5 title, but Ghost of Tsushima intends to keep his word and will be released on PS4 next summer 2020. The new work of Sucker Punch (creators of Sly Cooper or inFamous) has been defined by the own developer as "the biggest game" they have ever done. The parallels with Horizon Zero Dawn are evident (first party study that changes completely of airs and passes from a linear adventure to another of open world, premiering graphic engine along the way), and we all know how that one ended. Shuhei Yoshida himself, former president of SIE Worlwide Studios, spoke of him like this: ““ I am overwhelmed by its graphics. When I played it, my hands stood by how beautiful it is. There are many scenes that make Japanese environments something much more beautiful. ” A little that suits it with a playability at the height, we have one of the great games of 2020.
Dreams
It seems a regular of these lists, but next year will finally be the charm. The Media Molecule (Little Big Planet) game, which was released in early access last April, will release its final version on February 14, 2020, coinciding with Valentine's Day and the Sonic movie premiere. It will be then when we have the physical and definitive edition of one of the most ambitious publishers of the video game industry. The creations we have seen in recent months speak for themselves and show perfectly why we should mark it on the calendar (Wipeout races, their own television series with puppets within the title, a Metal Gear Solid remake and a dignified successor of X-Wings, a recreation of the combat between Iron Man and Captain America … et cetera, et cetera).
Final Fantasy VII Remake
What are we going to say at this point in Final Fantasy VII. The return of Cloud, Aeris and Tifa is scheduled for March 3, 2020 and has so many open fronts that we don't know where to start. New combat system, important changes at the playable level, an expanded history that will arrive in parts … But still, perhaps because we are prisoners of nostalgia, or perhaps because Resident Evil 2 has restored faith in the remakes, we are sure that we are going to shed more than one tear for Avalanche members and their tragic destinies.
Person 5: Royal
The right eye of Atlus, Persona 5, which won 10 out of 10 in FreeGameTips on its day (2017), will receive a new and refurbished version on March 31, 2020. It will be called Persona 5: Royal and brings enough merits under the arm to make a dent in this list. Because far from falling asleep on the laurels and living on income, Persona 5: Royal includes 30% more content than the original. Namely: new members and confidants for the Phantom Thieves, unpublished areas of Tokyo to explore, changes in the dungeons, enemies and treasures, a new opening, ending and main theme song … But as if that were not enough, it will end the Excused more fenced to not enjoy its quality and will arrive in full Spanish.
Nioh 2
It has been made to beg, but the sequel to the celebrated Nioh, Team Ninja and Koei, will arrive for the farewell party of PlayStation 4 and will do it on March 13, 2020. The alpha version of a few months ago could not leave more satisfied the community and fans and everything indicates that this delivery will be as demanding, complete, deep and solid in the playable as the previous one, recovering its enormous customization possibilities and its peculiar cooperative. A more than worthy rival for From Software and the Souls saga with which to fill the void of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, GOTY 2019.
Iron man VR
Sony's big bet for PlayStation VR in 2020 is preceded by Marvel's flibook. Tony Stark fans will be able to put themselves in their skin (or rather, their armor) with Iron Man VR from February 28, 2020. Although the memory of the latest Iron Man games (and especially of their dubbing) can raise some skepticism, it is worth doing a blur and new account. There is a completely new studio behind, Camouflaj, and it has been working on the game for more than two and a half years, since September 2017. An explosion salad that could give the bell and, in the worst case, will allow you to go mouthing up Marvel's Avengers, the triple A of Square Enix on The Avengers.
Predator: Hunting Grounds
From blockbuster to blockbuster and shot because it's my turn. Sony has not only partnered with Marvel to fire PlayStation 4, it has also done so with 20th Century Fox. It is this case to offer us Predator: Hunting Grounds on April 24, 2020. Set in the famous film universe of the producer, and Like Friday the 13th: The Game, it is an asymmetric multiplayer experience (that is, with unequal teams, such as Friday or Evolve), in which we will play games in which one team manages several marines in the jungle and another to the famous Predator who was hunted by Arnold Schwarzenegger. A curious bet that can give us a good time and a handful of laughs during the summer of next year.
Granblue: Fantasy Versus
The kings of the fighting genre, the boys of Arc System Works (who have given us works such as BlazBlue, Guilty Gear and Dragon Ball FighterZ), will launch on February 6, 2020, which may be one of their latest titles for PlayStation 4: Granblue: Fantasy Versus. A new game of the genre that is based on Granblue, one of the greatest successes in Japan in recent years. It is a game for Android and iOS that has more than 18 million downloads, about 22 million players worldwide and was able to bill 186 million dollars between January and October 2017. It even has its own anime and two movies. Given the results achieved with Dragon Ball, IP fans can rub their hands.
Wild
What would these lists be without Wild. Michel Ancel's project (creator of Rayman and Beyond Good & Evil) was announced in 2014 and still has no estimated release date, but if this generation has anything to say, time is running out. At the beginning of years, he left us more images of the fantasy world in which he sets himself, of which all we know is that he will be able to travel as humans or as creatures. We cross our fingers so that this time the charm is over and it does not appear on the list of exclusive PS4 (or PS5) by 2021.
