Rumors, Reality, and a Spring Injection
Speculation that the mode would be removed has spread across forums, but Epic Games has made no statements indicating a discontinuation. Reload remains a permanent feature of the Fortnite battle royale ecosystem. In fact, the studio plans to introduce a new map, Springfield Reloaded, homaging The Simpsons collaboration. The change is set to launch with update v41.30, expected on July 30 2026, following the current map’s retirement.
Numbers, Updates, and Longevity
At the time of writing, Reload attracts nearly 100 000 active players—a figure that eclipses other legacy modes such as LEGO Odyssey, Save The World, and the rumored OG Chapter 2. Because this player base is substantial, Epic is unlikely to consider removal. The mode continues to receive regular updates; the v41.20 patch already refreshed its loot pool, and further content additions are slated for the month. Players can also earn Battle Pass XP and enjoy the mode free‑to‑play since its release on June 22 2024.
