PS5 remote: a new patent suggests back buttons for DualShock 5

The company has not yet announced anything about it, beyond which the triggers will tend haptic functions.

As in every new generation of consoles, every movement of companies is interpreted in one way or another. One of the unknowns of the future Sony platform, PlayStation 5, is how your command will be. Official information refers to his haptic functions, but beyond that, nothing has been revealed. However, a new patent points to the possibility of a command with rear buttons. Of course, it is not known if it is the DualShock 5 (unofficial name because it has not yet been announced).

What is clear is that not all patents that are registered become a reality, so this information has to be taken with tweezers. As can be seen in the patent image, which you can see in this article, the prototype distributes four buttons on the back of the pad: those that are located lower, in pairs format, are smaller, while the others have larger size The most voluminous will adjust the length of the handle handles, all depending on the movement of hands made by the user, up or down.

As for the smaller buttons, the patent does not detail anything at all, so it will remain a mystery, at least for the moment. What is information is that this command has been invented by Masaho Morita and Taichi Nokuo, as it appears in the patent itself.

The DualShock 4 will have attachable rear buttons

One of the last movements of PlayStation has been to announce a new peripheral that is placed in the back of the DualShock 4. It is focused on the competitive game and offers the possibility of rearranging the buttons. It has an OLED screen, with which the user can view all available modifications, in total 16 different functions.

DualShock 4 Back Button Attachment will go on sale next February 14 at a recommended price of 29.99 euros. PlayStation 5, meanwhile, will be released later in late 2020.
