Chase Briscoe Steps into Sprint Car Ownership Elite, Expanding His Racing Empire

Chase Briscoe joins touring Sprint Car ownership ranks

Chase Briscoe Racing has officially taken over Brent Marks Racing in the High Limit Sprint Car Series, marking a new era for the wingless sprint car category.

New Ownership for High Limit Sprint Cars

Originally operating under the name Brent Marks Racing, the team will now compete under the Chase Briscoe Racing banner. The switch follows a decision by Marks, the 35‑year‑old driver and team owner, to shift his focus from racing to expanding the business side of the sport.

Briscoe’s Strategic Move

After a phone conversation in the spring, Briscoe, a six‑time Cup Series winner currently with Joe Gibbs Racing, recognized an opportunity to bring the high‑profile series into a more lucrative, winged Sprint Car format. He met with Marks for the first time in person on Saturday at Iowa Speedway, but the partnership had already been initiated by call.

Briscoe explained that the High Limit series’ new television agreements – spanning FS1, Amazon Prime, and the Flo package – create a “charter‑style franchise” model that offers “significant growth.” He believed that positioning himself as an owner would amplify the series’ reach and commercial potential.

Marks’ Perspective and Transition

Marks, who has amassed victories in the 2022 Kings Royal, the Historical Big One at Eldora, as well as the Port Royal Tuscarora 50 and the Williams Grove National Open, stated that balancing the responsibilities of driver, family team, and business owner had become overwhelming. The departure of business partner Allen Murray last year removed a key support system, prompting Marks to reevaluate his role.

He told reporters he initially saw Briscoe’s interest as a joke, but after learning of Briscoe’s commitment, he understood it was a logical time to sell the team, easing his “load” while keeping him engaged in racing.

Business Boom and Broadcast Growth

Briscoe highlighted the impact of More than 300,000 viewers tuning in to FS1’s Saturday race, underscoring the potential reach of the High Limit series when paired with strong broadcast platforms. The series also gained a charter from Spire Motorsports, purchased from Jason Meyers Racing, solidifying its place in the evolving Sprint Car landscape.

Jeff Dickerson, a key figure in the charters’ acquisitions, supported Briscoe’s vision. Briscoe emphasized his long‑standing interest in owning a Sprint Car team and noted the excitement for fan engagement under the new ownership structure.

Future Outlook

Briscoe has already begun plotting long‑term growth strategies, pointing to the 2031 contract and projected increases in viewership numbers. The partnership sets the stage for accelerated development, both on the track and in the business realm.
