The actor who gives life to Peter Parker negotiates with Sony and Marvel his appearance in the sequel to Venom, directed by Andy Serkis and scheduled for October 2020.
It seems that one of the great fantasies of Marvel fans, seeing how Spider-Man and Venom face each other on the big screen (we forget how much will happen in Spider-Man 3), is closer than ever to come true. As reported by Geeks Worlwide, Tom Holland, the actor who has been giving life to Peter Parker since 2016, is already negotiating with Sony his appearance in Venom 2. A negotiation that will not be easy because it also splashes Marvel.
Venom films are not produced by Marvel Studios and are exclusive to Sony, which are presented with two options. Or create a new version of Spider-Man interpreted by Holland and located outside the canon of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or assign an important part of the cake and convince Kevin Feige and company to give them “his Peter Parker” and protect them under his history. None of them will be cheap to Sony, being known to all the more than 800 million dollars that reached the first part and the expectations that are around the second.
We will see how the negotiations evolve because many things could still happen and each one more surreal. Since Marvel's permission to use “his Spider-Man” in exchange for it having a testimonial appearance, until Sony creates a horrific version of its own that awakens all kinds of comparisons with its namesake. In any case, it is not the first time we heard about this option, already raised by Ruben Fleischer, the director of the original film.
What do we know about Venom 2?
Apart from this, the first news about Venom 2 has been very positive so far. Their cast will remain tall and Tom Hardy and Michelle Williams have already confirmed that they repeat in their roles Eddie Brock and Anne Weying. To them will be added more prestigious names, such as the eternal Oscar-nominated Woody Harrelson, who will make Matanza, one of the villains of this new installment. Behind the cameras there will also be a change of helmsman and the new film will be directed by Andy Serkis, whom you probably know, but because of his history as an actor. After giving life to characters like Gollum, César, King Kong and Supreme Leader Snooke, Serkis goes to the address, where he already debuted with Mowgli: The legend of the jungle.
