The director of God of War wants a Golden Sun 4 as a Christmas gift, for which he would be willing to sacrifice all Nintendo sagas.
After getting his latest work, God of War, to win the GOTY 2018 at The Game Awards, Cory Barlog has become one of the most influential personalities in this industry. The director, already immersed in a new project with Sony Santa Monica, has cast his particular letter to the Magi and asked for the return of Golden Sun. When asked what Nintendo franchise would sacrifice to resurrect another, Cory did not hesitate and said he would end up with sagas like Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Pokémon and Super Smash Bros. in order to see a continuation of the Camelot Software games. "My body is ready for a modern Golden Sun created from the still hot ashes of all those franchises," Barlog joked. "Franchises I love, but not as much as Golden Sun. Count on my sword, my bow and my ax." We would not have expected another way of expressing oneself from the father of the God of War.
Dear Nintendo,
My body is ready for a modern GOLDEN SUN game built on the still smouldering ashes of literally EVERY ONE of these franchises! Franchises I love very much, just not as much as GOLDEN SUN.
In conclusion … you have my sword, and my bow, and my ax.
hugsies,

This 2020 the Golden Sun saga turns 19 (one less in Europe) and more than a decade since its last installment, Dark Dawn. The hope of the last remaining alchemists clings to the fact that Nintendo renewed the brand in 2018, as if it still had something to say about it. Despite this strange limbo in which the Japanese company maintains the series, every November 11 the networks are flooded with the hashtag #GoldenSunday and #BringGoldenSunBack. The director of God of War is not the only one who remembers the legendary bestselling Game Boy, who refuse to die and leave the collective imagination of their fans, who want to see Golden Sun 4 someday.

While we wait for Nintendo to pick up the Cory Barlog glove, we leave you with an article that reviews the characteristics that made Golden Sun an immortal saga, and the reasons that kept an armchair in the pantheon of the classics. Reasons of weight ranging from his world, his plot and his combat system to his fantastic soundtrack. Many have not yet passed the Dark Dawn cliffhanger and we deserve to turn the page with a new installment for Nintendo Switch that at least serves to put an end to the history of this cult series. Hopefully Cory has been good in 2019 and the Kings pay attention to him.
