Microsoft's Free Play Days program adds the popular Codemasters title, one of the most acclaimed genre this generation.

First weekend of the year and first weekend of Free Play Days in sight. Microsoft has announced that all Xbox One players with an active account on Xbox Live GOLD will be able to access DiRT Rally 2.0 completely free during this weekend. In this way, from January 2 to 5 you can download for free with all its modes; It is not a demo, but the complete game.

On the occasion of the promotion, Microsoft has reduced the price of the game by 70% in its Standard and Deluxe version, so that they will remain at 20.99 euros and 26.99 euros, respectively. The Super Deluxe, which includes more extras and additional content, drops 50% and stays at 54.99 euros.

DiRT Rally 2.0

DiRT Rally 2.0, available on Xbox Game Pass, was analyzed on FreeGameTips on the occasion of its launch about a year ago, a title that we rated close to outstanding due to the correct decisions of the British team, refining some of the aspects that we least convinced of the first part.

"Dirt Rally 2.0 is a real wonder, although it is a pity that all the effort put in wanting to improve the audiovisual section and the gameplay has not been encouraged to add more content," we said. In turn, “you will not find any other title that reflects this sport modality so faithfully. The physics is amazing, the graphic section is outstanding and the audio is more than remarkable ”.

The actuality of Codemasters brings us to the recent news with which the English study closed last year: the purchase of Slightly Mad Studios, creators of Project CARS. Prior payment of 30 million dollars, the company, founded in 1985, did so with a team of more than 150 people, responsible for one of the reference simulators of the present generation of consoles. It does not imply its dissolution; in fact, they have the third part going, but now they are more active within Codemasters and will be able to join forces in the face of more ambitious projects in a future that is hopeful thanks to the power that both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X promise to have.
