Cloud gaming will play a major role this year, analysts believe

Even if you still use your hands and feet to defend yourself against pure cloud gaming services, the technology will be unstoppable and one day it will also be the standard.

That is why analysts see 2020 as a major role in terms of cloud gaming, in which existing services such as PlayStation Now and Google Stadia will continue to be established, as well as new ones.

Dr. Serkan Toto from Kantan Games, for example, anticipates a “first big moment” for cloud gaming this year, where you will see what the future of gaming will look like. Amazon and Netflix are also expected to launch their own services. You will probably hear a lot more from Microsoft's xCloud.

PlayStation Now as the market leader

Mat Piscatella from the NPD Group also believes that only Sony and Google will dominate the market this year as everyone else is still busy building infrastructure, content, etc. PlayStation Now will likely be massively advanced along with the PS5 and will remain the market leader in cloud gaming this year.

Dr. Serkan Toto also expects Sony to merge their PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now services. Microsoft will probably also integrate their xCloud service into one of their existing services.

In general, all analysts see cloud gaming on the advance, but there will be no permanent replacement of traditional gaming anytime soon, especially this year.
