Tyler Reddick finished 25th on the lead lap in the NASCAR Cup Series race at WW Raceway, little short of a headline finish despite a day of double‑header wrecks and 18 cautions.
Early on, Reddick’s run was derailed
On lap two Reddick was jostled by Daniel Suárez, letting the No. 45’s front end hit the wall and forcing a pit stop for a torn toe‑link. The crew worked quickly, but the damage left the car vulnerable for the remainder of the event.
“We were just getting caught up in everyone’s messes,” Reddick explained post‑race. “I couldn’t even finish on the front row. You know how the point is – crawl out of the early wreck, get a top‑10, and then keep rolling.”
Mid‑race chaos spikes at 18 cautions
With half the event already under caution, the track managed a record 18 yellow flags. The cumulative incidents included a multi‑car pile‑up on lap 18 that saw Bubba Wallace, Josh Berry, and Christopher Bell collide.
Reddick, who had already recovered to the front nine, was caught in the wreck when the No. 21 of Berry slammed into the inside of him, forcing the No. 45 to climb the side of the car and briefly lift its front wheels before sliding to the apron.
Bell admitted he “just got wrecked,” and finished 19th after taking sufficient damage to hamper a late‑race push. “I thought I was going to win, and if I wasn’t, I would still have been solid,” he said.
Tough finish, but the team holds steady
Even after the late‑round crash and the prior damage to his splitter, the No. 45 stayed on the lead lap, earning a respectable 25th-place finish. The crew’s quick repair work on the toe‑link helped him avoid a spin out of the race altogether.
“It is just how we’ve used to at this point,” Reddick added. “We keep bouncing back from the early issues and try to finish strong.”
