The Southern 500 at Darlington last week produced 223 curse words, combining with this race’s 245 to reach 468 total NASCAR Cup profanity counts across the first two Chase events. Those slips have added $2,340 to the jar, bringing the current prize pot to exactly that amount.
The most frequently used expletive, “f***,” accounted for 235 of the 468 words. It trailed by a wide margin with “sh*t,” which appeared 103 times. Two new terms made the list—“bullsh*t” and “sh*tshow”—demonstrating the escalating vocabulary of on‑track radio.
Gamblers need to be attentive; the race at WWT Raceway generated a record 18 caution flags, the most in a single NASCAR Cup event at Gateway. A total of 13 distinct profanity words have been identified so far, and with the championship stakes rising, teams will likely grow even louder.
