Bagnaia claims Ducati can’t explain the big gap between his bike and other GP26 rivals

Francesco Bagnaia: Ducati has no explanation for “big difference” between my bike and other GP26s

Francesco Bagnaia admitted his Ducati now behaves “very, very differently” from the same manufacturer’s other machines after a poor Misano outing.

Bagnaia blames Ducati for inconsistent performance

During post‑race comments, the two‑time MotoGP champion highlighted that the bike’s grip vanished on both qualifying and race trim. “Braking harder yet the bike won’t slow,” he said, adding that throttle response had also deteriorated. Bagnaia pointed out that the soft rear tire produced the same traction as the worn soft, an oddity that left him puzzled.

Misano weekend undermines confidence

At Misano, a track where the Italian has historically claimed three victories, the bike failed to match last year’s pace. His qualifying lap was half a second slower, and the 17th‑place sprint finish stalled him further. A crash on lap five of Sunday’s Grand Prix crushed his hopes of a points finish, marking the third consecutive race without a single point for the rider.

Team seeks solutions amid frustration

Bagnaia described the current situation as “exhaustive” and “humiliating.” He noted that, during a Dorna‑posted video, he lost the rear on a simple corner, a circumstance he cannot control. Despite competing for maximum performance, both rider and team feel a crucial element is missing in the machine’s handling. Bagnaia accepted that a ninth or tenth place might be the most realistic outcome until the issues resolve.
