F1 Singapore Grand Prix: Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes Show Local Fashion Flair

F1 fashion goes local as Ferrari, McLaren and Mercedes celebrate Singapore

Formula 1’s Singapore round saw the launch of two standout gear lines, each crafted to honour the host nation’s culture and the teams’ heritage.

Puma’s Singapura Limited Edition

In a region‑specific drop, Puma unveiled its Singapura Limited Edition line, split between Ferrari and McLaren. Ferrari’s capsule sports red, pale Shoji‑tone panels and Peranakan florals, while McLaren’s design mixes espresso brown and black with batik‑style graphics. The collection echoed Eurasian motifs—Sino‑Portuguese arches, Indonesian and Malaysian batik, Thai Mudmee weave, Vietnamese brocade and Philippine traditional weaves—reflecting Southeast Asian artistic diversity. Retail began in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia at the start of August, expanding to Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines two weeks later.

Adidas’ Vanda Bloom Collaboration with Mercedes‑F1

Mercedes‑AMG PETRONAS and adidas coordinated a Vanda Bloom line centred on Singapore’s national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim orchid. The apparel features the orchid’s signature pink and purple hues paired with white accents. Performance‑ready pieces incorporate adidas’ CLIMACOOL and CLIMAPROOF technologies to counter the race’s oppressive heat and humidity. Richard Sanders, Mercedes’ chief commercial officer, noted the collection “pays tribute…to Singapore through its most iconic symbol while reflecting the innovation and engineering excellence that both teams are known for.” The launch coincided with race weekend, with the items stocked throughout Southeast Asia.

Both collaborations blend local artistry and technical performance, underscoring the sport’s growing trend of culturally resonant merchandise that extends beyond simple branding.
