Ubisoft announced the free‑to‑play tactical shooter Rainbow Six Mobile will cease operation on 15 January 2027, concluding 15 seasons since its 2023 soft launch.
Sunset Timeline and Final Season
The last season is slated to drop during the week of 12–19 October, in line with the studio’s schedule. Server access remains until the closure date, and the company will provide refunds for in‑game purchases. Players may keep playing and enjoy online services through 15 January 2027.
Update Cadence and Community Events
Since the global release, Ubisoft delivered monthly patches that added new operators, maps and seasonal content. The game hosted competitive tournaments, community videos and widely shared gameplay moments, creating a vibrant player base that is now being phased out.
Strategic Shift and Future Projects
The devs explained the decision as a realignment with long‑term priorities. Ubisoft previously shuttered another free‑to‑play shooter, XDefiant, and is now posturing Rainbow 6 Tactics for a 2026 launch, offering a different spin on the franchise for fans.
