Spire Motorsports Secures Daniel Suarez for the 2027 Season

Spire Motorsports has announced a new two‑year deal that will keep Daniel Suarez behind the wheel of the No. 7 Chevrolet through the 2027 NASCAR Cup Series.

Suarez’s Year‑Long Performance Surge

The season to date ranks as Suarez’s most competitive, with an average finish of 15.2 points—his career best—while the No. 7 car posts a 22.2 season average.

Three Cup victories—Sonoma 2022, Atlanta 2024, and an emotional win at Charlotte in 2026—underline his growing command over the field.

His current position at 14th in the standings places him 35 points shy of the top ten, a margin that shrinks to 4 points in the final stretch.

Career Highlights and National‑Level Dominance

Suarez arrived in the Cup Series with Joe Gibbs Racing in 2017, spending two seasons before moving on to Stewart‑Haas Racing and later Gaunt Brothers Racing.

He became the founding driver for Trackhouse in 2021, where he finished five consecutive seasons and captured the rain‑shortened Coca‑Cola 600 at Charlotte.

He is the sole foreign‑born racer to win in all three national NASCAR tiers and the only driver born outside the USA to claim a national title—his 2016 O’Reilly Auto Parts Series championship.

Current Championship Context

Spire teammate Carson Hočevar currently sits in 10th place driving the No. 77, while Michael McDowell in the No. 71 occupies 20th.

With four races remaining, Suarez’s performance will be critical to converting the Skidded 2026 gains into a solid playoff run.

What 2027 Promises for Spire and Suarez

The extension signals Spire’s confidence that Suarez can translate his recent upward trajectory into a lasting Cup presence, while the team’s infrastructure continues to sharpen around the No. 7 chassis.

As the 2027 season approaches, all eyes remain on whether Suarez will leverage his historic growth to break into the upper echelon of Cup competition.
